Jewelweed Hydrosol

A hydrosol, also known as hidrolat, essential water or herbal distillates are aromatic waters resulting from plant distillation that are rich in the water soluble compounds as well as essential oils.
Widely used in the cosmetic industry, these mists have incredible soothing, toning and cleansing properties to the skin and its ailments. Hydrosols are very gentle and efficient extracts that, contrary to the concentrated essential oils, have virtually no contra-indications and are suitable for beings of all ages and sensitivities (including babies, elders and pets).

Jewelweed Hydrosol (Impatiens carpensis) is not an aromatic mist like the other ones we have, it is rather green smelling and is intended to be used as a skin soothing wash spray. Its astringency, cooling and antihistamine properties are effective at sooth itchy bug bites, sunburns and poison ivy rashes. Just apply the mist over the affected area and let it air dry. For poison ivy rashes, wipe the area with a hydrosol soaked cotton pad to remove the irritant oils form the surface of the skin.

Energetically it is cooling and drying.
Shelf life to 12 months. Refrigerate for prolonged shelf life an an extra cooling boost.
