Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is a polypore mushroom that grows wild in the Appalachian forests and is considered a white-rot mushroom because it decomposes wood rapidly and turns it into bio-available nutrients for other trees and plants to absorb.

This mushroom is vastly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for its cancer-fighting and immune-modulator properties. This is a woody mushroom intended only to make extracts and tea.
