Flemish Beauty pear on OHxF87
In 19th century Europe, one of the most highly-prized pears for its taste (wonderful sweet/sour balance, musky), texture (melt-in-your-mouth butteriness) and story, said to have been a chance wild seedling found around year 1800 in the woods of Belgium and known as ‘Candy of the Woods’ until the mid 20th century. Very cold hardy.
