Red Cedar Hydrosol - face mist

A hydrosol, also known as hydrolat, essential water or herbal distillates are aromatic waters resulting from plant distillation that are rich in the water soluble compounds and essential oils of plants.
Widely used in the cosmetic industry, these mists have incredible soothing, toning and cleansing properties to the skin and its ailments. Hydrosols are incredibly gentle and efficient waters that, contrary to the concentrated essential oils, have virtually no contra-indications and are suitable for beings of all ages and sensitivities (including babies, elders and pets).

As a facial mist, Red Cedar Hydrosol (Juniperus virginiana) is very aromatic with dry and warming actions - which are great this time of the year when we might need a little more warmth and comfort.

In addition,Red Cedas has traditionally been used for it’s anti fungal, insecticidal, and deodorizing actions to the skin, it's a great aid in oily skin and can be used as an air purifier and grounding smell before a yoga or meditation practice. It makes a great facial toner that tightens the skin while cleansing it without destroying the natural sebaceous protective layer. Energetically it is aromatic, warming and drying, perfect for the winter months when we might need a bit more warmth.

I use an artisan hand-made copper distiller and all of my hydrosols are made with home-grown or sustainably-harvested herbs in the region.
Shelf life to 6-12 months. Refrigerate for prolonged shelf life.
